There are a lot of reasons someone becomes a Ghostbusters fan.
Maybe it was the movies. Maybe it was the cartoon. Maybe it was the toys, the games, the music, the logo, the gear, the jokes, or the first time you saw a proton pack and thought, Wait… people can build those?
For us, it was all of the above.
Welcome to the official blog of the Northern California Ghostbusters, a fan-powered franchise built around creativity, community, friendship, and a shared love of all things Ghostbusters.
We’re here to inspire new generations of Ghostheads, celebrate the franchise we love, and do some good while we do it. That mission has been at the heart of NCGB from the beginning.
Who We Are
The Northern California Ghostbusters are fans, builders, makers, designers, electronics tinkerers, photographers, video creators, writers, collectors, gamers, and lifelong Ghostheads.
Some of us build props. Some of us repair electronics. Some of us take photos, make graphics, edit videos, write, stream, organize, or help keep the team moving forward. Everyone brings something different to the firehouse, and that variety is one of the things that makes this group special.
NCGB is not about showing up perfect. You do not need a screen-accurate uniform, a finished proton pack, or encyclopedic knowledge of every ghost, gadget, and Tobin’s Spirit Guide footnote to belong here.
We believe anyone can be a Ghostbuster.
Why We Started
Like many great fan projects, NCGB began with a simple spark: a love of Ghostbusters and the desire to make that world feel real.
What started with fandom, tabletop games, online fan communities, and proton pack building grew into something bigger — a Northern California crew of people who wanted to celebrate Ghostbusters together, show up at events, meet fans, and create memorable experiences for people of all ages.
Over time, that spark became a team.
And like any good team, we discovered that the real power was not just in the gear. It was in the people wearing it.
What We Do
You might find us at conventions, street fairs, fan gatherings, community events, movie screenings, livestreams, or anywhere a few Ghostbusters can make people smile.
We love taking photos with fans, talking about props, meeting other builders, connecting with neighboring franchises, and helping new Ghostheads feel welcome. We’ve also had some unforgettable moments along the way, including fan events, special visits, and opportunities that remind us how strong and creative the Ghostbusters community really is.
